well child tamariki ora service
Well Child Tamariki Ora Waiheke Health Trust provides free growth and development health checks, health assessments, information, support networks and education for whanau and tamariki from four weeks of age to five years old.
This service includes the ‘B4 School Check’ which is a free health and development check and takes place when a child turns four years old and is the last Well Child check before the child starts school.
This will include a vision and hearing screen for your 4-year old.
Well Child services are provided by registered nurses in your home and at the Waiheke Health Trust at 5 Belgium Street in Ostend.
Referrals to our services can be by your midwife or GP, but self-referrals are welcome – please call reception on (09) 372 8893 or fill in our form here
school based services
Vision and Hearing
Waiheke Health Trust provides the National Vision and Hearing Screening service to preschoolers from 4 years old and school students up to year 7 by qualified vision and hearing technicians/registered nurses. Children requiring further assessment are referred onto specialist services.
Immunisation
We deliver the Year 7 and Year 8 Ministry of Health School Immunisation Programme at the local Waiheke Island schools.
