I have been working as a New Zealand Registered Occupational Therapist since graduating from Auckland University of Technology in 2000.
Since moving to Waiheke in 2012, I have been working at the Waiheke Health Trust in a job share position. I split my time between the Health Trust, lecturing for the AUT undergraduate Occupational Therapy programme and working towards my PhD.
Since moving to Waiheke, I have married a long time local and between him and our six teenage / young adult children, I feel very much part of the Waiheke network.
I have worked in many different areas as an Occupational Therapist, from premature babies in hospital wards, teenagers in high-school, adults and children recovering from serious injuries, to community living centenarians.
I am very passionate about Occupational Therapy, and in particular how our environment can help or hinder us from doing the everyday things we want and need to do.
