Podiatry is a branch of medicine devoted to the study, diagnosis and medical and surgical treatment of disorders of the foot, ankle and lower extremity.

Podiatrist’s used to be referred to by their older title of chiropodist (not to be confused with chiropractic, which is unrelated).

A podiatry clinic runs once a month to assist client’s with maintaining healthy feet.  Our goal is to help keep you on your feet.

Access to this service is free with a referral from your doctor or Specialist Community Nurse if you:

  • have diabetes
  • have a Community Services Card
  • are no longer able to manage your own foot care

diabetic podiatry

A diabetic podiatry clinic is also available once a month. This service is available to diabetics only and is accessible by a referral to Greenlane Hospital from your GP.
